Well my friends, the previous post I made was about Era Istrefi and maybe I will write more and more about her, since she is the next rising star on the world of music. It seems that everybody is talking about Era lately and... i should confess they better do so because in my opinion she is great in what she does and her style is unique.
In this post I want to share with you guys her first live performance of the song that made her famous on Europe "Bonbon". Moreover not in Albania but in France. You may wonder, how is it possible that a singer sings live for the first time not in his country? Well, in Albania usually singers prefer playback performances and the people like them too.
But, this doesn't mean albanian singer can't sing live, in fact there are great singers.
And Era is one of the great albanian singers. If you see her performance I am sure you will think the same. Hope you like it.
"Albanian 'Rihanna', Era Istrefi". This is the first international media opinion about her, after she released her single "BonBon" in January 2016 and drawing comparisons to the work of Sia and Rihanna. But, who is Era Istrefi?
Era Istrefi is a new singer and songwriter from Kosovo. Her first song was the single "Mani për money" in 2013, which gained positive feedback and attention from the albanian public. Her following songs "A po don" and "E dehun", gained the same success. Everyone began to love Era because of her unique style of singing, she is so different from all albanian singers.
In June 2014, she won three Videofest awards for her music videos, including "Best New Artist" for her work in 2013. In 2015 Era gained success with her song "Njo si ti" with over a million views on YouTube in a week. Her first duo featuring well-known Kosovo rapper Ledri Vula, "Shumë pis", became a summer hit. But the international fame came from "BonBon". Following the single's success, she was signed to American record labels Sony Music Entertainment and Ultra Music in February 2016.

Era's songs are mainly written in Gheg dialect, rather than using Standard Albanian. Besides Gheg Albanian, she often uses English phrases, as well. She is among the fewest singers in the Albanian-speaking territories to use and mix reggae, dubstep and pop.
Istrefi has two older sisters, Nora Istrefi, one of Kosovo's biggest pop-stars and Nita Istrefi, a stylist and a younger brother, Bledi. Her Bob Marley influence has become very prominent in her songs. She often uses his name, and quotes his songs. She is also a supporter of LGBT rights.
